Working rules
Working rules
These apply to every engagement, whichever practice it falls under. If one of them is a problem for how your company works, better to know before we start.
- 01
The price is agreed before the work
Every engagement has a written scope and a fixed price, or a fixed monthly capacity. If the scope changes, the change is priced and agreed before it is done. There is no month three surprise.
- 02
We look before we build
Assessment first, even when the client already knows what they want. Two to three weeks of looking at what exists has changed the plan in most engagements we have run.
- 03
Something to see every two weeks
Delivery runs in two-week cycles and each one ends with a demonstration of working software, a live campaign or a control in place. Slides do not count.
- 04
You deal with the people doing the work
No account manager between you and the engineer, the product lead or the media buyer. Questions get answered by the person who knows.
- 05
Reports say when something did not work
The monthly report measures against the objectives in the proposal. When a number moved the wrong way, the report says so and what changes next month.
- 06
Everything is handed over
Code, accounts, documentation and access are yours at the end, with training for the people who take it on. Dependence on us is not the business model.
How an engagement runs
The first months, week by week
Every engagement follows the same shape. The details change with the practice; the calendar does not.
Weeks 1 to 3
Assessment
We read the code, the roadmap, the campaign accounts and the numbers, and we talk to the people who run them. You get a written view of where the problems are and what they are costing, including the ones nobody mentioned.
You receive: Assessment report
Week 4
Proposal
Scope, objectives, who owns what, dates and a fixed price. Nothing starts until this is agreed in writing, including how success will be measured.
You receive: Written proposal with a price
From week 5
Delivery
Two-week cycles, each ending with something you can see working: a release, a campaign live, a control in place. You deal directly with the people doing the work.
You receive: A demonstration every two weeks
Every month
Report
One report against the objectives in the proposal, in your own numbers. If something did not move, the report says so and what we are changing.
You receive: Monthly report
At the end
Handover
Documentation, accounts, access and training for your team. The aim is that they run it without us afterwards.
You receive: Handover pack

Questions we get asked
Straight answers
Do you work on fixed projects or on retainer?
Both. Work with a clear scope is priced as a fixed amount. Ongoing work, such as running paid media or holding interim product leadership, is a monthly retainer with an agreed capacity and a review every quarter.
Where are you based and where do you work?
Dubai. Our clients are in the UAE, the wider Gulf and Europe, and we work in English and Portuguese. On site when it helps, remotely when it does not.
What is the smallest thing you will take on?
An assessment: two to three weeks on one problem, ending in a written report. It is the cheapest way to find out whether we are useful to you.
What does it cost?
It depends on the scope, and the scope is written down before the price is. The budget field on the contact form shows the ranges most of our work falls into.
Do you give financial or investment advice?
No. Our risk management work covers operational, product, delivery and vendor risk. Anything regulated stays with your licensed advisers.
Can you work inside our existing team?
Yes, and a lot of our work is exactly that: in your tools, your meetings and your release calendar, for a defined period.
Who owns the work?
You do. Code, documentation, campaign accounts and data produced under the contract are yours at handover.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes. Yours or ours, before any detailed conversation.
